Diego Hargreeves

As much as Diego hated to admit it, he was sort of grateful Klaus was with him right now. It distracted him from thinking about Patch and, besides, there was something obviously wrong with his brother. More wrong than usual.

"Are you okay?" he asked quietly, keeping his eyes on the road.

Okay, well, there were some psychopaths after Five and Diego had to find him and deal with that. He would get to that in a moment. First, he had to give Patch the head's up about said psychopaths because she kept ending up where they were.

Diego was really starting to get sick of these damn family meetings. Luther comes back from the moon and he goes back to being Number One, bossing them around. He had a feeling what this was all about, and he was ready to straight up pitch a fit if he was right about it.

Diego was already confused by this time travel thing between here and Fandom. When he arrived to grab some stuff in the mansion, he found less than twenty-four hours had passed since the best funeral ever. Out of habit he was listening to the police scanner while rifling through his room and found out about the shooting at the donut shop down the street. Naturally he had to go check it out.

It was pouring down rain when everyone met out in the courtyard for the funeral. Everyone was equipped with an umbrella, save for Diego who stubbornly just stood in the rain looking increasingly like an angry wet cat.

The city was wet and rainy, which was appropriate for both a funeral and for the very special occasion of all the (living and non-time traveling) Hargreeves being under the same roof for the first time in over a decade. The place was pretty much exactly the same as Diego had left it, and even though his dad was dead he still felt like he was intruding on his territory somehow. He felt better about Annie being with him; if anyone could handle the collective Hargreeves charm it would be her.

He also had to do some investigating and hoped that "look, here's Diego's cute girlfriend" would help distract his siblings while he was rifling through Reginald's room.

Diego had been having some weird ass dreams lately. Creepy ones, really. He dreamed about his father occasionally, but usually they were flashbacks to training and Ben's funeral. But these were focused on the rare (so very rare) moments where his father had given him praise and when Diego woke up he was left with a vague feeling of wanting his father to be proud of him.

Which disturbed him even more than the nightmares, really.

He was considering just not sleeping again, so he was doubling up on the coffee this morning.

It was very hard to fall asleep while handcuffed to a radiator, who knew? Still, Diego had managed it sometime after the fifteen hour mark of being held captive by his own brother. Five was nice enough to provide him with a blanket so it was comfortable enough for him to forget about the handcuff thing when he first woke up. Until he went to stretch and was stopped by the cuffs bouncing against the radiator with a clang.

"I'm going to kill him," Diego mumbled for about the millionth time in the last twenty-four hours. He sat up as much as he could, and realized that Dolores was staring at him from the kitchen table. She must have been set up as a guard, which was even more humiliating.

At least there was cold coffee and a gross Danish for him to eat for breakfast? Thanks, Five.

Okay, well, it had been pretty well established that patrolling the town was useless, but what else were people like Diego supposed to do? It had been hammered in his head since birth to take action, even if the efforts were futile.

Which probably also explained Five's determination to stop the apocalypse even though he had nothing to go on.

So, yeah. Walking around town yet again. For some reason. Maybe he'd find a hole to jump in.

To say today had been rough was quite possibly the biggest understatement ever. It had started with watching porn at way too early in the morning, went into cutting off a guy's hand to get his girlfriend out of jail and somewhere between that Annie had absolutely gotten her ass handed to her by Black Noir.

Diego was worried. He knew why Annie was playing it cool. Her mother was there, and Billy Butcher wasn't exactly someone you wanted to look weak in front of. But she had been hurt, and neither of them had gotten the chance to process that and he just really needed to make sure she was okay.

When everyone seemed to be as settled as they were going to be, he found his way to Annie's side. "Can we talk?"
