Being weird and constantly listening to the police scanner meant that Diego was once again at a crime scene he had no business being at. But, look, something was weird here and he needed to figure out what it was.

Once again, it was extremely easy to get under the police tape and into the store. It looked a lot like the donut shop crime scene, only with less bodies. Diego bent down to inspect one of the bullet casings on the ground.

Patch	Patch was less than amused to see Diego at a crime scene he had no business being at. Again. "Do you seriously not understand the chain of custody? If you touch it, I can't use it."
Diego	Diego held up a hand. "Let me save you some time running ballistics. These 9 mm bullets haven't been manufactured since--"
Patch	"Since 1963, I know," Patch said. "Matching casings were found last night at a murder scene. Ishmael's Towing." She took in a deep breath because she knew what was coming next.
Diego	"The driver?" Diego asked.
Patch	Patch nodded. "Found him hanging from the ceiling."
Diego	"Seems like he might have known something after all," Diego said innocently. "Shame nobody told you to go talk to him."
Patch	"In the past 24 hours I have had attacks in three different places across town," Patch said, frowning. "Whoever this is obviously isn't slowing down, so if you give a shit and have any fresh ideas, I'm all ears." That would be the closest she would get to admitting Diego had been right.
Diego	Diego looked up towards the ceiling. "This place must have surveillance footage."
Patch	Patch shook her head. "No, it doesn't exist. The first unit on the scene clocked two shooters leaving the premises wearing creepy kids masks."
Diego	Diego huffed. "This city is going to shit, huh?"
Patch	Patch gave Diego a look. "Coming from the guy dressed in spandex."
Diego	"It's not spandex, it's leather," Diego corrected. Then, because he couldn't resist being a jackass, added, "And if I recall correctly, you used to like it."
Patch	Patch rolled her eyes. "God, please un-remember that and get out of here."
Diego	"Yeah, don't worry, I've got this," Diego said, turning to leave. "You go ahead and fill out that important paperwork."
