Baltimore | Tuesday Night

It was slower than usual on the island with everybody gone. Diego was never the type to be idle so he took this as his chance to go to Baltimore and fight some crime. It wasn't that hard to get a feel for the city and he had already stopped a mugging in progress. Without stabbing anybody, even!

He decided to patrol for a little while longer, keeping to the shadowy areas of the streets because he was wearing a domino mask and even he could admit that was a bit weird.

"Hey, you wanna drive, Knife Boy?" Danny snapped.

"I could drive!"

They would definitely end up in the Harbor.

Diego grabbed a Choco Taco out of the freezer and hurled it at one of the cars chasing them. "Fuck off!"

That'll do it, Diego. Good work.

Danny jerked the wheel to slam into the van to their right. You know. Helpfully. "We're fine. Just shoot out their tires."

They weren't fine and his stress levels were through the roof.

"I'm running low and I'm not sure the tacos are that effective!" Steve yelled back.

“I got it,” Diego said, somehow managing to pull more knives out of his various pockets. “Just try to drive this thing straight for five seconds.”

He curved his first couple knives to hit the van to the right, leaving the one directly behind them to Steve since he likely couldn’t curve bullets like he was in that bad James McAvoy movie.

"Freakin' knife nut," Danny grumbled. The van next to them's tires were both shredded by the knifes and it flew up into the air in the least probably fashion as he hit a curb, flipping and sliding on it's roof as they left it behind.

And then it exploded. But they were... probably fine.

Because look what happens when you mix the genres. Look at it.

"You're gonna have to get those knives on your own," Steve told Diego, snickering. "How many we have left?" he asked Danny.

Oh yeah they were totally fine. They could walk that off.

“I don’t know how much more this ice cream truck can take,” Diego said. “And if this thing explodes half the city is gonna get a contact high.”

"And we'll die," Danny snapped. The important part is the us dying bit."

He glanced in the rearview mirror that only really showed him Steve because it was an ice cream truck.

"Just the one behind us."

The really determined one that was driving on rims at this point.

"It was just lizards," Steve yelled at them through the open van doors. "They need to diversify their portfolios," he added to Diego and Danny, taking aim and firing his last bullet through the windshield at the driver.

"Nice shot," Diego said approvingly. "I won't underestimate weird lizard people ever again."

[hatesparadise]

"If you two are done bonding over murder," Danny replied, sighing with relief as the van behind them slowly just came to a stop with no one pushing on the gas anymore.

"They started it," Steve said, completely unbothered as he went back to the freezer and pulled out some ice cream. "Rocket pop, Danno?"

"He's right; they did start it." Diego leaned over the freezer to grab some ice cream for himself. "Damn this is a shitload of weed."

"How about we worry about who the heck it all belongs to," Danny said, parking tge truck once he decided they were far enough away from the Pink Panthers.

He did take the offered rocket pop, though. Because it was there and he needed to see just how much weed they'd accidentally stolen.

"Or we just drive it to the local cops and make it their problem," Steve said around a mouthful of chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.

Diego pointed at Steve. "What he said. Let the BPD do all the paperwork we already did the hard part."

The hard part being accidentally hijacking the right ice cream truck.

"Wow, suddenly reminded that neither of you are actual cops."

The ulcers you gave Hawaii Duke, Steve. The ulcers.

Steve gave Danny what he thought was a very winning smile. "They can also have the, um, ten ice creams that are left."

It really was a lot of pot.

"See? It's all good," Diego said. "Just drop off the truck and we go home."

"Christ, you are both lucky I'm here," Danny grumbled. Because he was going to do the damn paperwork. Of course he was.

He paused and swuinted at Diego after a moment. "Is that a headband?"

It was a domino mask, but okay.

"I like it," Steve said with a shrug. "Very ninja."

"Thanks, man," Diego said to Steve. At least someone got it. "It helps to be incognito sometimes."

Like to avoid being ID'd when he broke someone's door instead of checking to see if it was unlocked first.

"It's about as incognito as this moron in full Rambo gear," Danny said, jerking a thumb at Steve.
