Baltimore | Tuesday Night

It was slower than usual on the island with everybody gone. Diego was never the type to be idle so he took this as his chance to go to Baltimore and fight some crime. It wasn't that hard to get a feel for the city and he had already stopped a mugging in progress. Without stabbing anybody, even!

He decided to patrol for a little while longer, keeping to the shadowy areas of the streets because he was wearing a domino mask and even he could admit that was a bit weird.

"You can have him," Danny said with an answering grin. "I've got his wallet."

"Oh, is that how it is?" Steve said. "Give me my crab back."

"You sure you want it back?" he asked. "He already got his hands all over it."

"Please, this man willingly eats MREs."

"Those tiny bottle of hot sauce are hilarious every single time, Danny," Steve said.

"I'll be honest that sounds gross." We couldn't all have android mothers make us delicious meals, Diego.

Danny grinned and gestured to Diego as his back up here. Because other people got it!

"You're both missing out."

They really weren't.

"Yeah that's a risk I'm willing to take," Diego said before finishing his beer.

"Yeah, I love you, but no."

Platonically. It was a platonic love.

CBS, what were you even thinking???

"So," Steve said, smirking at Diego, "what brought you to Baltimore tonight?"

"Hero stuff," Diego said. "Thought the mask gave it away."

"Hero stuff." Yeah, no.

[grenadesandohana]

"Like Ratman?" Steve asked. "I collected his stuff as a kid, but I like Really Strong Guy Who Could Fly more."

[knife_bender]

"Sort of like that," Diego said, toying with his empty beer bottle to avoid making eye contact. "I don't have an action figure--well, not anymore."

"I was more of a baseball cards kid myself," Danny said, watching Diego for a moment at that before shooting Steve a look that was possibly an entire conversation for them. "Another round?"

Because he could let some things lie when it made people that uncomfortable.

Oh, they could hold entire conversations with eyebrows. "I could do another round," Steve said. "Do we need more crabs, too?"

Because they were a lot of work for very little food.

Diego was grateful for the subject change. He already knew from experience that led to Danny looking at him like someone kicked his dog.

“Is it even possible to get full off of these things?”

BECAUSE SOMEONE NEEDED TO BE CONCERNED, DIEGO. Just hope he never found Vanya's book. Like. Ever.

"Nah, it's meant to keep you occupied while you get drunk."

"Let's get some hush puppies, too," Steve said. "If they're too heavy, we can throw 'em at Danno."
