Baltimore | Tuesday Night

It was slower than usual on the island with everybody gone. Diego was never the type to be idle so he took this as his chance to go to Baltimore and fight some crime. It wasn't that hard to get a feel for the city and he had already stopped a mugging in progress. Without stabbing anybody, even!

He decided to patrol for a little while longer, keeping to the shadowy areas of the streets because he was wearing a domino mask and even he could admit that was a bit weird.

"I'm beginning to think it's a façade," Diego said, grabbing another beer. "He hides his affection for us behind insults."

No that was you, Diego.

That actually was true. But he also showed it with hugs and emotional talks.

"Give me my crab, you putz," Danny grumbled, having nothing to refute that with.

"He's mad because you figured it out so fast," Steve told Diego.

Diego smirked and shrugged. "I've had some experience."

He didn't think Five had ever said anything to him that didn't contain an insult.

...okay, that was fair.

"I say these things because they are true." And he cared.

"I am not a putz," Steve said, shaking a crab at Danny for emphasis.

"And I am not a lunatic." Though he had every right to be considering his childhood!

"Debatable."

"Do you want a crab?" Steve demanded. "Stop being a schmuck."

A word he had absolutely learned from Danny.

“Yeah what he said,” Diego teased. “You can hammer out any anger issues on a dead sea creature.”

"Ugh, I should've known you two would be in sync on this," Danny grumbled, flicking a stray crab lung at Steve.

"Are you sad that I've made a new friend?" Steve teased.

"Don't worry, I'll be your friend too," Diego joked, making a kissy face at Danny.

"You can have him," Danny said with an answering grin. "I've got his wallet."

"Oh, is that how it is?" Steve said. "Give me my crab back."

"You sure you want it back?" he asked. "He already got his hands all over it."

"Please, this man willingly eats MREs."

[grenadesandohana]

"Those tiny bottle of hot sauce are hilarious every single time, Danny," Steve said.

"I'll be honest that sounds gross." We couldn't all have android mothers make us delicious meals, Diego.

Danny grinned and gestured to Diego as his back up here. Because other people got it!

"You're both missing out."

They really weren't.

"Yeah that's a risk I'm willing to take," Diego said before finishing his beer.

"Yeah, I love you, but no."

Platonically. It was a platonic love.

"So," Steve said, smirking at Diego, "what brought you to Baltimore tonight?"

"Hero stuff," Diego said. "Thought the mask gave it away."
