A Hotel in Mexico | Wednesday Afternoon

It had been a really, really good honeymoon so far. Sure, they hadn't found any untouched ancient ruins to explore and potentially break, but they had been to the beach a lot, and seen some truly awesome views.

And there was also the part where they'd occasionally spend a day not leaving the hotel suite, like today. Those days were just as good. Shame it'd be over in a few days.

"Look, this food has been great," Diego said, looking over the room service menu. "But I'm actually kind of dying for a cheeseburger right now."

"By asking," Annie pointed out with a soft smile, sliding her arms around his neck. "Which makes you pretty damn smart, too, if you ask me."

Diego leaned up on one of his elbows so he could kiss her. "Just two smart people who married each other."

Annie kind of melted into the kiss, reaching her hands up to cup Diego's face with a soft, happy sigh. "This has been so nice," she murmured. "The trip and everything, I mean. Getting to, like, settle into the idea together. I get why people go on honeymoons."

The general lack of pants was also pretty great, but they didn't have to go to Mexico for that. Though it was nice to know they could be loud and pantsless and generally sort of disgustingly in love with each other and then never see any of these people again. Much better than in Fandom, where she was best friends with their closest neighbor.

"Maybe we make it a thing," he suggested. "People always take a week or two off for their anniversary, right?"

"We can go somewhere different every year," Annie agreed, clearly loving that idea.

Again, they would likely refer to this trip using a different term once it actually rolled around next year.

"Remember when I had to, like, sell you on the idea of vacations?" Annie reminded him, bumping her nose against Diego's. "Before Hawaii?"

To be fair, Hawaii had been a real strange vacation, as far as these things went.

"I was young and didn't know any better." Yup, that less-than-two-years-ago Diego was so foolish. Didn't know a thing.

"I'm glad I could be a part of your continuing vacation education, then," Annie decided, sliding her legs out long along Diego's so she could stretch out beside him and wrap an arm around his midsection. "I think it helps having activities besides all the sex and sun, too."

...though those were mostly what they'd been up to on this particular trip. Haunted tombs or whatever were totally still on the table, though!

"But the sun and sex were the best parts, right?" Diego asked, nuzzling against her neck.

"Not even a question," Annie assured him with a soft laugh, arching her neck a little to assist there and curling a foot against his leg. "They would be the best parts even if we like, found Atlantis while snorkeling."

It was their honeymoon; sex should be the best part. (The sun was just kind of benefitting by association here.)

"Wow, now that's high praise," he said, placing a light bite against her neck. "Better than Atlantis?"

"Are you disagreeing?" Annie teased, her breath catching on the bite. "Married sex is great. And Atlantis might be a dump."

"If it wasn't a dump before it went underwater, it is now," he said, laughing. "You're right--married sex is great."

"I didn't think we could get better," Annie noted softly, sounding impressed as she trailed her fingertips along his chest and lightly brushed her thumb across a nipple. "Good job, us."

It was mostly that being newly married made Annie feel all emotional and connected to Diego, which she figured came with the territory (and welcomed, because it was wonderful.)

Diego smiled again, nipping at her lower lip. "You better watch your hands, I still have to open the door."

"Did they say how long it'll be?" Annie wondered, brushing her hand down to Diego's hip and smiling as she kissed him. "We probably have time."

Probably.

"You're playing a dangerous game," Diego murmured. "It's kind of hot."

"I mean, we've taken bigger risks than this," Annie replied softly, twining one foot along Diego's leg. "During pollen. And in my trailer. And that bathroom."

He knew which bathroom.

"Besides, maybe I'll get the door." With her obvious sex hair.

"You could get away with just wearing my shirt," he said, pressing a kiss against her jaw. "If you can find it, that is."

Housekeeping hadn't exactly been a priority for him since being here.

Obvious sex hair and what was clearly her husband's shirt: a perfect outfit for answering the door.

"I'm sure I can find a shirt somewhere around here," Annie decided, tilting her head with a sigh and finding a firmer grip on Diego's hip. And barring that, maybe a sheet would do? Again, they were probably never going to see these people again. Annie's shame was also on vacation. "It'll give me a chance to practice my new signature some more."

Technically speaking, Annie Hargreeves wouldn't be official until she was back in Fandom and had filled out some paperwork. But that didn't seem to matter as far as signing for room service and such, so far.

Diego grinned, ducking his head down to playfully bite at her shoulder. "Have I told you how much I love the name Annie Hargreeves?"

"You have, but you can always tell me more," Annie replied, pressing a little closer as her laugh in response faded into a soft, happy little sigh at the bite. "It's kind of a great name."

And like, her maiden name was a pretty great one. Annie knew from great names. "And I like hearing it." Partly because it was also still so new that she kind of had to remind herself who was being talked to when people addressed her as Mrs. (or, here in Mexico, Señora) Hargreeves.

"Annie Hargreeves," Diego murmured, drawing out the name. "Like that?"

"Well, when you say it, it's kind of hot all of a sudden," Annie replied, nuzzling lightly along his temple. Combination of the fact that Diego could probably make anything sound sexy to her right now -- he could talk about doorknobs or rutabagas or the water cycle, and she'd say it was hot -- but also, a weird sort of...pleasant possessiveness? Sense of unity? Something?

There was just something really nice about sharing Diego's name. Maybe it was a little regressive of her to enjoy it as much as she was, but Annie didn't much care.

Diego kissed his way down her neck and shoulder, occasionally biting down on a spot. "Maybe I'll find it hot if you said my name."

Okay, so, she said his name all the time. But maybe it'd be really hot now.

Annie smiled, shifting a little to tangle her legs a little more with his and leaning down to press her lips against his ear.

"I love you, Diego Hargreeves," she whispered, and then bit his earlobe lightly.

A little added commentary with his name seemed appropriate.
