Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

Steven wasn't going to argue it. "Don't know how this week would've gone without you. Especially you there trying to take Marc home."

In fairness one of their other friends might have managed it but Llewellyn had been the one who stopped by at the right time. And the fact that he'd seen the need and done it counted a great deal.

"I wasn't about to leave him to manage on his own," Watts said, shaking his head. "Not in that state." Nor would any of the other people radio had mentioned, he was sure, had Marc been as badly off as he was by the time Watts had come across him.

"You're always so considerate of him though," Steven said. "Even understanding how he needs time to himself tomorrow instead of us leaving a day early. That's like - every time you do that it's like you're right there with me, making sure he's cared for."

"When we first started to see each other," Watts said. "His well-being was important to me because he was important to you. Now- I've come to know him and care for him for his own sake." Which included things like giving the man a chance to have a social life even if he kept insisting he didn't need one.

"He cares for you as well," Steven said. Then he had to smile because he knew how difficult that might be to believe. "I know he's rubbish at showing it. But he'd not let anything happen to you, any more than I would."

And sometimes Marc said more than one word to Llewellyn without being drunk. For Marc that was huge.

Watts nodded. "I said as much, to Ms. Ingram the other day," he told Steven. "I know if I needed help and it couldn't be you, he'd be there."

Steven was happy to hear Llewellyn knew that. "You're family. I mean it's not the word he'd use. It's not a good word for him. But don't have to use the word if you've got the meaning, do you?"

Hell, it was a complicated word for Watts, whose experience with family was that it was only something he got to have for a little while before it would be taken from him again.

Still, he nodded. "I'm pleased he feels that way," he admitted.

"I do as well," Steven said. He gave a grin. "Different type of family relationship, you and me, granted."

"Oh, by far," Watts said, with an extremely subtle waggle of his eyebrows.

Steven had to chuckle, but with affection. "Someone's feeling bold."

Which Watts in his current pleasantly-buzzed state was apparently going to take as a challenge, leaning over to press a quick kiss to Steven's cheek.

"We've a whole week of adventures together ahead of us," he said. "I want to be able to-" he broke off. Steven knew what he meant. "Otherwise it's going to drive me mad."

Yes, well. Steven hated hearing that Llewellyn had his own willpower issues to deal with when it came to being around him. Awful, really.

"Just you and me," Steven reminded him. "No one there who knows us."

"A certain appeal to that, to be sure," Watts said. Even though the very fact that Steven had been invited to this party was proof that their relationship was not an issue in Fandom. Old habits and etc.

Steven knew, which was why he didn't mind taking as long as Llewellyn needed. Even if it was a test of willpower some days. "Can be like when we were in DC. Or doesn't have to. Whatever you're comfortable with. I'm happy just being with you."

And going back to the same hotel room at night.

There was a reason he hadn't put too much on their itinerary.

"I remain amazed at the depths of your patience with me," Watts said fondly.

"You're worth it," Steven told him, also fond. "Just being you means you're worth it. The way you take care of Marc and me, that's extra that is."

It meant a lot, to hear that. More than he could say, really. So he focused on the second part of Steven's statement.

"Well. Everyone needs taking care of sometimes."

Steven rubbed his hand lightly against Llewellyn's arm. "More this week than most, yeah? Thank you, Llew. It was good, knowing you were there."

"I was glad to do it," Watts told him. "Not- you know what I mean." Not glad it had needed doing.

"I do." Steven gave Llewellyn's arm a squeeze. "Sort of like nothing could ever make it all the way good, but you being there made it better. All that time for me, even with us going away next week."

Steven gave a wry smile. "I really do think she would've liked you."

The version of her Steven knew, anyway.

"I- would have liked to have met her."

Again, Steven's version of her.

Steven nodded, taking the comment as intended. "Maybe I'll tell you more about her some day."

Steven took another swallow of his beer as he realized that might be a stupid idea for any number of reasons.

"If you'd ever care to, I'll be there to listen," Watts said gently, covering one of Steven's hands with his own.

Steven lifted his hand up to press back against Llewellyn's touch. "Might only be stories but they're all I have."

It was clear that to Steven he was still struggling with the idea that they might only be stories.
