Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

"M'sieur Frenchie," he corrected playfully. "Watts, mon ami, I will hold you to that -- though if I have any say in it, we will soon lose count of drinks and who owes who what."

At least Uber was one of those apps that existed across multiple universes, so Frenchie already had it all set on his phone to make sure they all got home.

"M'sieur Frenchie, of course," Watts replied with a wink. "And it's to be one of those parties, then?" Look, he'd never been to a bachelor party- er, this type of bachelor party- before, this was all a very new experience.

"Naturellement." No, only kind of. Frenchie had been reined in. "It is Diego's -- how do you say -- last gasp of freedom! It is all balls and chains and misery and 'Honey, did you take out the trash?' from next Saturday until the end of his life, non?"

Frenchie, who actually knew the bride better than the groom, probably, was clearly joking.

(Though he still thought he should have been allowed to get a bunch of strippers. All kinds of strippers! He was the absolute opposite of picky!)

Clearly joking or not, he was talking to someone who often had trouble discerning when someone was joking.

So yes, he was just going to squint at Frenchie for a beat or two. "Ah," he said finally, taking a sip of his drink. "Exaggeration. For comic effect."

Showed how far he'd come in two ways: one, that he could discern it was a joke at all, and two, that he didn't actually agree with the statement in all seriousness.

"Oui," Frenchie replied, actually fairly used to having to explain jokes and idioms if only because he spent a lot of time with a fellow English language learner who was quite a bit further behind in her education than Frenchie was himself. "They are disgustingly happy and will be forever, the bastards."

Frenchie loved love, despite his words.

"They do seem well-matched," Watts had to agree. Not that he'd seen them together all that much, to be honest, but the genuine joy and pride they clearly took in each other said a lot.

"I have seen much worse matches," Frenchie agreed. Though not at Herogasm, because his friends did not love him, clearly. "And if I cannot talk either of them out of it, then I shall have to simply send them off as best I can."

With intoxicants.

"The bachelorette party, I am told," he added, "had jello shots."

Frenchie did not really understand how ubiquitous jello shots were in Fandom, thanks to Summer.

It was true; Watts spent very little time in Caritas in general and he still heard plenty about them!

"Is that... unusual?" he asked. The use of gelatin to make alcoholic shots had been new to him when he'd arrived in this time, sure, but it seemed fairly popular.

"It is inconvenient as I now need to learn how to make jello shots because Kimiko has developed a fondness."

Though it might be presumed, from the way he said that, that Frenchie might have had a fondness for Kimiko herself, and thus didn't mind all that much.

Well, that got a slight smile out of Watts. He'd liked Kimiko as well, although obviously not in the same manner. "How is Miss Miyashiro?" he asked.

"Very excited for the wedding," Frenchie answered, before pausing with a curious glance. "You have met mon cœur?"

He had had enough to drink to call her that. It didn't take much.

"She came to visit Miss January," Watts explained. "We- made a valiant attempt at carving jack-o-lanterns."

Really, it was more stabbing pumpkins than carving, at least where Kimiko and Watts were concerned. But they'd tried!
