A bar in Baltimore | Friday Night

Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. Hold for some OCD We're good to go!]

The variety of people Diego was related to didn't throw Steven. Easy enough to guess adoption might be the cause, even if one had clearly been adopted well after the others given that he looked so young.

Instead Steven was interested in other aspects. "Which one lived on the moon?"

Steven still looked hopeful. "Do you think he'd mind me asking about it then? Never been, myself. Dead curious."

Steven hesitated because that seemed like the sort of thing Konshu would have an opinion about. When there was blessedly no comments from that part of the peanut gallery Steven said, "Sorry, he did what?"

"That's awful," Steven said, with a surprising amount of sympathy aimed at Viktor for the accident part instead of the destroyed the world part. Though this was perhaps greatly influenced by how, as far as Steven was aware, "Half the universe went missing back where I'm from. Came back in five years though, right as rain. I'm sure it'll work out for you lot as well."

"Half the universe is a lot of people," Steven pointed out. "Not - I don't mean to diminish what you've gone through at all. It's horrible."

Awful enough that one group of beings might try to fight their programming to avoid allowing the Earth to crack open like an egg, for example.

"But you never know," Steven said. "Half the universe coming back is just as strange, isn't it? Anyway, good you're finding hope with it all. Looking to the future. Marriage and everything."

That one Steven was more familiar with. "Events that can end the world, yeah? We've had loads of those. One just before we moved to the island, actually."

Again with the pronouns, Steven.

"It all works out though, doesn't it?" Steven said. Because it sure did when you barely remembered what happened. "Hard work avoiding them, that's for certain. Only had to do that the once myself. Do it again if I had to, obviously. Though nobody hopes to have to, do they?"

Psychopaths maybe.

Marc's motivations were mainly being able to lose himself in a fight that vaguely had a purpose to it so there would've been no judgement from that end if Marc had been at the bachelor party. (No karaoke attempt either though so, yanno, just as well.)

"Did get to go inside the Pyramid of Giza," Steven said, because he had a vastly different definition of exciting from Diego. "Won't lie, that was a treat."

"Not in the pyramid of Giza but in Alexander the Great's tomb," Steven said. Sadly for Diego he meant the kind still in their sarcophagus. "Only the one though. But it was Alexander himself so - "

Steven looked at Diego as though it was obvious how amazingly cool this was and surely everyone would be on board with that with as much enthusiasm as if, say, Beyonce just walked in.

"Well if we have a pub quiz about it you've me in your corner then," Steven said. He looked far too excited about the prospect of this. He would've been moreso if he knew about the Kennedy part since modern history was not his area of expertise.

"I imagine it'd be interesting to try," Steven realized, as he contemplated the interdimensional nexus of it all. "All of our worlds have so many differences to them, don't they? Capital of one country might be different in your world from mine. How do you sort the points out then?"

Steven had gotten in enough trouble by incorrectly assuming he shared enough in common with people from worlds similar to his own. Not wanting to make the same mistake again had left him overly cautious.

"Probably right," Steven said. "Perhaps tonight's best left for the games over there, then. No prior knowledge involved."

Whether Steven had the hand/eye coordination needed without Marc's help was another matter entirely.
