After one night of not sleeping, Diego had headed to New York to see if maybe a change of scenery would help with the issue. Turns out, it did. He had no reason to go back to Fandom anytime soon, so he decided to make himself comfortable. Here he had sleep and, now that people knew who he was, had free reign to use the tower's amenities.

Which mostly meant the gym. Usually when Annie was working he'd spend most of his time in there, and leave abruptly when a non-Maeve shaped person from the Seven came in. Today it was A-Train that cut his workout short. He hated that guy.

"You back yet?" Diego called out as he opened the door to Annie's apartment.

"Then we'll do it in a castle," Annie replied, tilting her head up to press a kiss to the underside of his jaw. "I've seen movies. Probably lots of private places to hook up in a castle."

"Might be drafty, but we'll make it work," he said, tilting his neck towards hers. "In between all the sibling saving and everything, of course."

"That's what I'm saying." Saying muffledly at the moment, because there was a neck being presented to her and Annie had to kiss it. "But sex in the past is priority number two after finding everyone."

But what if one of you has a grievous injury the first time you have an opportunity, Annie? Would the priorities change at all then?

Diego would absolutely think the priorities would change. Especially if one of them had been separated from the other for three months.

"Now I want this theory to work even more," he murmured, sliding his hands up her sides.

"This does seem to be a benefit to having me come along," Annie replied, a smile in her voice as she bit the base of Diego's neck lightly and pressed closer. "I wonder if my eyes'll light up still if we're in medieval times and there's no power."

More importantly: what if you're in medieval times and there's no power and you can't use your powers, Annie? But no, no, questions about orgasms first, always.

Diego let out a sigh, both at the bite and the thought of that. "Another science experiment for us."

"How's your research on my shower going, Mr. Scientist?" Annie asked, lightly resting her hands on his chest. "Oh, sorry, it's probably Dr. Scientist."

"Dr. Scientist, PHD," he said with a grin. "The shower is very spacious and I'm impressed the hot water isn't gone yet."

"I'm pretty sure we could let this go all night and we won't run it out," Annie said confidently, slipping her arms around him and pressing a kiss to his shoulder. "These are very scientific observations. Do you need to go write them down? I don't want you to forget."

"No, I think I'll be able to remember," he said. "Besides, we're not clean yet."

"You seem really focused on that," Annie teased. She went ahead and proved that she was just as distracted, between all the nudity right here in front of her and what her imagination was doing with the prompt, 'What if you could have sex during in any historical period,' by leaning up to kiss him again.

Oh he could totally focus on the getting clean thing. While also kissing Annie. He proved that by sliding one of his hands over her chest, cupping her breast. For cleaning reasons.

Annie hummed appreciatively -- appreciative of all the cleaning he was helping with, of course -- and arched up into his hand.

The way she dug her nails in against his back had nothing to do with getting clean, though. Annie wouldn't even lie and pretend it did.

"See?" he murmured, ducking his head down to nip at her jaw. "I'm helping."

"You're so helpful I might need you to shower with me all the time," Annie replied softly, tipping her head and breathing out a sigh.

"I would never say no to that," he said, shifting some to nudge one of his legs between hers. "You might be having extra long showers though."

"We just need to manage our time appropriately," Annie murmured, sliding an appreciative hand down over his ass. "Budget in those long showers. Super worth it."

"Keep that in mind next time you negotiate your contract," he said, sliding his thumb over her nipple.

"Believe me, you're going to factor heavily into my next contract negotiation," Annie assured him, biting her lower lip at that. "Thank you for giving me even more reasons to make sure I keep you in mind."

She always kept in him in mind, regardless. But long, cooperative showers were a great incentive.

"I'm here to help." Diego leaned in to kiss Annie again, pressing himself closer against her.

Annie was about to, again, point out how much she appreciated this form of help, but kissing Diego back with enthusiasm felt like a better answer than a verbal one. She leaned back against the shower wall as she kissed him, and balanced carefully as she shifted one leg to hook it lightly around the backs of Diego's.

Diego put one of his hands on Annie's thigh, encouraging her to keep it where it was. "Much better."

Annie made a little noise of agreement, sliding an arm up around Diego's neck. It not only added stability, but also made it all the easier for her to dip her head and bite the skin of his shoulder before sucking a bruise into it.

"Fuck," Diego murmured, rocking his hips up against hers. "More."

Diego was rewarded with a gasp and a sharp bite to his collarbone as she pressed her hips against his in return. "You more."
