After one night of not sleeping, Diego had headed to New York to see if maybe a change of scenery would help with the issue. Turns out, it did. He had no reason to go back to Fandom anytime soon, so he decided to make himself comfortable. Here he had sleep and, now that people knew who he was, had free reign to use the tower's amenities.

Which mostly meant the gym. Usually when Annie was working he'd spend most of his time in there, and leave abruptly when a non-Maeve shaped person from the Seven came in. Today it was A-Train that cut his workout short. He hated that guy.

"You back yet?" Diego called out as he opened the door to Annie's apartment.

"Love you too," Diego murmured before pressing a few kisses against her should. "I'm glad we didn't fall down."

Annie leaned into the wall before wrapping both arms up around Diego and pressing a kiss behind his ear. "You wouldn't let us fall."

Even if it was so much fun getting him distracted to the point that it was a potential concern.

"I try my best, but make no guarantees." There. He was covered in case they did fall the next time. "Clean enough?"

"For now," Annie assured him, smiling against his skin before pulling back a little. "And I think my knees can handle standing on my own again."

Probably.

"I'll catch you if you fall," he promised. "Or I'll try to catch you and we'll fall together and then we both can have embarrassing injuries."

Diego's would be more visible though.

"If you fall," Annie replied, reaching to turn off the water and nuzzling against Diego's shoulder on the way, "I fall. It's like that."

Way to take the prospect of falling in the shower after sex into a romantic declaration, Annie.
