Diego had officially done the whole mall Santa thing and it was an experience he was never going to repeat again. If only because he was fairly sure no Santa should have been that handsy. But Annie got her picture and that was what mattered. He definitely won some boyfriend points for that.

They had decided to get the Christmas thing done early since she would be going home at some point and it might as well be now since the only weird thing going on was some creepy humming coming from the kitchen if you listened hard enough. That could be easily ignored.

Now he was on the couch watching Annie cover his apartment with an excessive amount of Christmas cheer. "You know it's just going to be me that sees this, right?"

Diego had absolutely no issue with that whatsoever. He slid one of his hands up to the center of her back while the other went to rest on her thigh, thus ensuring that she would have to untangle herself from him if she ever wanted to move.

It really was kind of nice to be kissing around all the Christmas lights. Not that he would say that out loud.

"Taking a little inspiration from handsy Santa?" Annie teased softly, showing absolutely no indication that she wanted to untangle herself in the slightest.

The Christmas lights were super romantic, even if the inflated reindeer added a slightly weird touch to the scene.

"Well, I can't say he didn't have a good idea," Diego said with a smile. "He just had some major consent issues."

"Fortunately I wouldn't have put myself here if I wasn't hoping for some handsiness," Annie replied with a little lift of her brows, shifting a bit to kiss along his neck. "Though I'm very sorry if Santa traumatized you."

"You wanna try to help me forget it?" he asked, tilting his neck towards her.

"'Try,' he says," Annie murmured, giving his earlobe a little nip even as she pressed closer against him, squirming a little in his lap. "I mean, I can give it a shot."

At least temporarily. The pictures, again, would last a lifetime, but Annie was gaining a lot of confidence these days in her ability to distract Diego from pretty much anything when she set her mind to it.

"No pressure," he said lightly, even as he was sliding his hands over to cup her ass. Let's all be glad the creepy Santa hadn't done that.

Probably just because they hadn't given him enough time.

"Mmm. So let's see." Annie moved her hands along his shoulders and arms, feeling critically before eventually resting them on his chest, and pretended to think about it. "I'm going to guess...twelve knives, before I go looking."

She knew she was probably low-balling it, honestly, considering he was in tactical gear (which had made for an outstandingly weird photo) and that anything could have happened in that mall.

"Twelve? Twelve is a light day," he said. "I had to make sure I was protected against Santa and his elves."

"Fifteen?" Annie tried, biting her lower lip. "Twenty? How worried were you about Santa?"

Nevermind that Santa had totally been worth worrying about.

"My worrying was well founded," he pointed out. "Fifteen is right. Not the most I could have done."

But still way too many knives for a person to have on them.

"I feel like it's only a matter of time before you're stashing them on me," Annie teased, idly toying with his harness. "You only had like five or six that one time!"

'That one time' being like two weeks ago when she had invited him over to her apartment under an incredibly transparent pretext and he'd correctly brought condoms instead of his normal array of knives, yes, but still.

"It was to protect the both of us!" From handsy Santa and his elves. "I don't know if knives would go with the whole Starlight outfit...but maybe I'd put some in your purse."

Annie declined to point out that she could also protect them from Santa and his elves, because she knew she wasn't going to gain any ground there, and instead replied, "I could always start wearing garters with knife holsters or something under the Starlight outfit, just so you have reserves."

Just suggesting it for practicality's sake, of course. Not at all because she thought he'd think that idea was hot, oh no.

Oh no he clearly didn't find that hot. Ignore how he was trying to tug Annie closer so his hips were flush against her and leaning in to kiss her neck. "Now I know what I want for my birthday."

Annie - who was getting pretty good at surprises, here - was not going to mention that Valentine's Day was a whole lot sooner than his birthday, opting instead to try to undo his harness (which would be easier without distracting neck kisses, but she wasn't complaining.) "Just to be practical," she insisted, which would probably be more believable if she hadn't sighed it. "Wouldn't want you running out."

Diego smiled against her neck. "Need me to help?"

He could probably remove his harness in his sleep, which was actually a pretty sad fact.

"Please," Annie said fairly immediately, grateful. "It's like a puzzle." And it was probably a good thing that all of his knives were so securely fastened to him, and she really liked the whole overall look, but she also wanted to, like, sit and practice with all his stuff one of these days when he wasn't actually wearing it and she wasn't increasingly impatient to remove it.

"It can be," he agreed, momentarily letting go of Annie so he could undo the straps of the harness. "At least it's all above my shirt this time?"

See, and now Annie could be helpful too, and unzip her hoodie and peel it off. Totally the same level of difficulty.

"I'll learn it all," she promised, watching him carefully (though she did momentarily look away to throw her hoodie over at the inflatable reindeer to knock it over. It didn't need to watch.) "I'll just have to keep undressing you until I get it right on the first try."

Oh no, anything but that.

"I'm more than willing to help you achieve that goal," Diego said, laughing when the reindeer got knocked over. He would have been kind of weirded out to look over and see that goofy reindeer face looking at them.

It didn't take him long to get all his various knives off and gently tossed onto the floor. His shirt followed soon after.

He also threw it at the reindeer, just because.

Annie's t-shirt also belonged over by the reindeer, it turned out! So did her bra, though she was getting kind of distracted and at this point she was just throwing her clothes in that general direction rather than aiming for the reindeer anymore.

And with all the weapons dispatched and everyone naked to the waist, obviously Annie needed to lean in and kiss him, pressing her torso against Diego's with a happy hum.

Diego made a pleased little noise of his own when he felt Annie pressed up against him. He slid his hands up her bare back, keeping her close and generally just really enjoying being able to touch her like this.

Annie was more than happy to stay close, dragging her nails lightly across Diego's shoulders and up the back of his neck with a soft sigh. She rolled her hips against his once, just to tease.

Pants were going to be a thing in a minute, yes, but now that they'd done this a few times Annie was a little more inclined to take her time with him. At least for the moment. That patience might not actually last all that long, but she could try for now.

Diego was all about taking his time right now. They had mood lighting thanks to the Christmas lights, soft (but weird) music coming from the kitchen and no weird reindeer looking at them. It was the epitome of romance.

Though she was making the patience thing harder when she rolled her hips like that. He moved his hand to one of her breasts, running his thumb over her nipple because he could also be a tease.
