Yesterday was a...success? If one could call beating the shit out of a guy in a stupid looking uniform a success. It hadn't really done a lot to make Diego feel better overall, but at least he felt like he did something other than sit there twiddling his thumbs.

Now he really didn't have much to do until class on Friday (where he was determined not to go down so easily next time!), so he was having a quiet evening in with American Ninja Warrior on TV and a protein shake because his cooking skills were non-existent and that counted as dinner.

Annie smiled, and with that go-ahead, she slid her hand lower, pressing her palm lightly against the front of his shorts and cupping him through the fabric. "Yes, you definitely do," she murmured, kissing him again.

He smiled into the kiss, rocking his hips against her hand. It definitely wouldn't take much to tip him over considering how worked up he got just watching Annie come.

Which was probably good because, again, ice pack.

That eagerness spurred Annie on to move with a little less hesitation, reaching with one hand to impatiently tug his shorts down.

Her other hand, naturally, wrapped around him, immediately adopting a smooth and steady rhythm as Annie simultaneously deepened the kiss.

Diego moaned softly, not even caring about how needy he was right now. He jerked his hips up into Annie's hand, feeling more than a little impatient.

Seeing Diego needy always kind of short-circuited Annie, and she was really glad she'd insisted because this was also a hell of a distraction.

She shifted herself a little closer, briefly removing her hand just to quickly slide her fingers between her thighs for a little lubrication, before resuming stroking him at a quicker, more urgent pace. Her mouth moved to his neck, biting lightly before flicking her tongue out against the area.

"Fuck," Diego gasped, having to put in a lot of effort into not coming immediately from seeing and feeling that. "You--you're so fucking hot."

Annie's immediate response to that was to tighten her hand's grip just a fraction, working her thumb in a counter-rhythm as she stroked. She pressed as close as she could without hurting herself, just enough that her breasts grazed against his chest. "You are," she murmured. "You look so fucking good like this."

All needy and gasping and impatient. It was the sort of thing she thought about during these lonely nights away.

"Close," he murmured, not even caring about how quick this was. He moved to kiss Annie again because he really wanted to be doing that when he did come.

Annie hummed an acknowledgement into the kiss, shifting her legs and hips a little so she could angle out a thigh under where her hand was working, since her skin would be much easier to clean up than the sheets.

Also, you know. Hot.

She kept up the steady motion of her hand, increasing her tempo just a touch more.

Diego only last a few more strokes of her hand before he was coming, jerking his hips hard up into her hand. The noise he made managed to be loud, even muffled by the kiss.

And she was correct, this was much hotter than messing up the sheets.

As much as Annie liked when they came together, or close to, it was always amazing to be able to watch and hear and feel Diego let go without being distracted by her own orgasm. Like. Just so fucking hot.

She stayed with him, slowing her hand incrementally as she let him ride it out a bit. Her free hand came up to gently cup his face, her thumb brushing his jaw.

Diego stayed there for a few long moments, nuzzling against her hand and enjoying the afterglow. Eventually he had to flop down beside her or else there might be a worry of flopping down on her, which was what they had been trying to avoid in the first place.

"Jesus!" There was the ice pack.

"Are you okay?" Annie asked, immediately startling and looking around to see if maybe his pillow knife had migrated out from its home.

When she saw it was just the ice pack, though, she started laughing. She couldn't help it, that was sort of hilarious.

Diego threw the ice pack off the side of the bed, unable to keep from laughing a little. "Forgot about that thing."

"I'm sorry," Annie said, leaning over to press a kiss to his shoulder before reaching for the tissues on the nightstand. "Here you were trying to tend to me and it backfired on you."

But on the bright side, she had maybe kind of needed the relaxation and the affection and the distraction more than the ice pack.

"You sound real sorry," he joked, lying down now that he was sure he wasn't going to be attacked by more ice. "At least it kept me from falling asleep right away."

Annie stretched out beside him once she was cleaned up, giving a contented sigh. "I mean, that's an interesting strategy for the future," she noted, lightly skimming her foot along his leg affectionately. "Next time you fall asleep right after sex, I'll go get ice cubes."

Spoiler: no, she would not, because Annie usually fell asleep right there with him on those occasions.

"Do I get to try the same thing on you if you fall asleep right after sex?" he teased.

"That seems fair," Annie decided, foolishly, as she leaned over to press a kiss to his shoulder.

"Good." Not that he would ever take advantage of that, oh no.

He gave her a smile, reaching out to run his fingers along her arm. "I love you."

Even if she did laugh at him a moment ago, yes. That was real love right there.

She laughed at the situation, not at him. Important distinction!

"I love you, too," Annie sighed, relaxed and content in a way she wouldn't have predicted when she got here. Like, tomorrow -- and the day after, and probably the day after that -- was going to suck, and she was still worried about...you know, everything, but this had all helped. "You know I kinda realized it when you got shot in January?"

And here they were a few months later, able to just say it freely back and forth in light of her own gunshot injuries, aww.

That just made him smile again. "You hid it very well with those disapproving looks you were giving me."

"Well, that's why I was so disapproving," Annie replied, leaning over to kiss his smile. "Made me realize just how much I care."

And then she'd talked herself out of saying anything for a solid month.

"I think that's around when I knew I loved you too," he admitted.

"And neither of us said anything until knife garters were involved," Annie teased, nestling as close as she could without putting any pressure on her welts. "That was silly of us."

Particularly of her, since it wasn't even like she hadn't been pretty sure he felt the same way.
