What was supposed to be a twenty-four hour visit had somehow turned into a "I guess I'm staying here until the portals start working again" visit. Diego was happy to have the extra time with Annie, even if there was some obvious distance between them at the moment. If anything spending more time with her was the only way to figure out what the issue was.

The bad thing was that he had only packed for a twenty-four hour visit. After much grousing, where Diego tried to convince Annie he could just spend the rest of time in sheets or towels while his one outfit was being washed, he gave in and wore The Seven merchandise that she had managed to get for him. 

He refused to go out in public wearing this stuff, but he was fine hanging around Annie's apartment wearing Queen Maeve merch. The colors suited him, at least.

Annie actually didn't answer, given that yep, that had worked, and in lieu of an a real verbal response she gave a soft gasp (and totally violated her own 'we have to be quiet' mandate, but hopefully no one was lurking outside her apartment door.)

She didn't break anything this time, but when she came, her eyes lit up bright enough to be very visible even here in her fairly-sunlit living room.

Who could possibly be listening? It's not like The Seven were filled with perverts and weirdos. Pfft.

Diego wasn't that far behind her. He had been close already, but seeing and feeling her come was enough to tip him over. He made an attempt to be quiet, at least, biting down on Annie's shoulder as he came to muffle the moan he let out.

Perverts and weirdos with super-hearing that could eavesdrop on this all the way across the building, if one was interested in listening.

(Thankfully, one was not.)

Annie was trembling, but smiling, as she pressed a soft kiss against Diego's temple and relinquished the grip she had on his shoulder.

"I love you too."

Diego rested his head against Annie's shoulder, breathing heavily. "We are really good at that."

"We are." Did Annie sound a little relieved to find that, like, today had not gone like Monday had, and that she hadn't completely lost touch with how to have good sex?

That relief was probably pretty understandable.

"I vote that we don't try to find you a portal until tomorrow," she added softly, gently tracing her hand along his back.

She didn't really feel like she needed to explain why.

"Well if you insist," he said with a smile. "We do have some catching up to do."

They really should make up for the last couple days.

"I do insist," Annie replied, shifting so she could move out of his lap and tuck herself against his side. All the better to lightly nuzzle against his shoulder, feeling more relaxed than she had in weeks. "I mean, there's apparently monsters and shit, anyway. You're safer here."

And also her apartment was enormous and they'd only done it on the couch and in the bed so far, you know? Lots of lost time to make up for.
