MHA #2 | Wednesday Evening
Diego had been sensitive to the fact that Annie had been pretty insular the last couple of weeks, and that throwing her a huge party for her birthday wouldn't have been a good idea. Even if the tub from the rager was still in the kitchen.
So he decided to keep it low-key this year, taking Annie to Baltimore for a fancy dinner that required him to wear a tie for once. There was little chance that could lead to anything upsetting unless a witchy looking redhead happened to be eating there that night.
Luckily for them, no such thing happened. Everyone made it home in one piece with no triggering of any trauma. Well, except for the tie thing. Diego hated wearing ties.

He started to pull away, already loosening his tie some more. "I feel like there should be music."

Her eyes illuminated as she focused for a second, and the stereo out in the living room came to life.
Granted, the last thing it had been playing had been Christmas music, so...she might have to get up and change that unless Diego wanted to strip to Jingle Bell Rock?

So, no, he would not be changing the music.
When he did get his tie off he tossed it towards her. "A tie, for my number one fan."

Ruined in a good way.

To be fair, he could have held perfectly still and taken off his clothes in obvious discomfort, and she would have still said he was the best stripper she'd ever seen.
(Annie had never actually seen a professional stripper, technically, but that was beside the point.)

But, honestly, jokes aside -- it was more than a little distracting to watch her husband's hands go to his belt like that, even if it was over lyrics from the other room talking about giddying-up, jingle horse. (Side note: what?) And Annie was already shifting a little on the bed as she watched him, winding the tie through her fingers as an outlet and not being at all shy about how Diego had captivated her interest entirely.

But also really hot, even with jingling around the clooooock going on.

It was her birthday, so maybe she got to make some decisions regarding the denial of touch (or other senses) later, given that she had that tie to play with, too.
"I just didn't want to interfere." As though he would not happily strip around her hands.

He was somehow making Christmas music sexy, which was a real talent (or at least spoke to how attractive Annie always found him, regardless of circumstances.)

"Happy birthday to me."
Something to be said for unwrapping your own gifts, you know?

She had some ideas. A few.
"Probably should kill the music, though." Because the track was switching and she was pretty sure those were the opening strains of Marshmallow World, possibly the least sexy song in existence?

But at this point, she was a little impatient -- so while she paused and focused long enough to make sure she didn't accidentally break the stereo while turning it off remotely, she was multitasking, and moved to pull her dress over her head just as her eyes faded and the music stopped.
And thus -- still in bra, underwear, and tights, Annie was reaching to draw Diego back onto the bed with her. "Come here."

And then she'd get around to the business of that inspirational tie.
