Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

"So are you gonna go full Jersey and serenade us with some Springsteen?" Everyone loved a poor rendition of Thunder Road. Everyone.

It was cute that he thought Five cared about legal drinking age rules. Fight him, bartender!

Or don't because, ugh, Diego's night or whatever.

"Sure," he said, because a drink was a drink.

"And you look like a gorilla mixed with an Aryan youth," Five replied like they were just listing off physical descriptions of each other here.

"We're all doing waters after this," MM grumbled good-naturedly, like the mother hen he was.

But he was also grabbing one of those tequila shots. And trying not to look at whether the kid a little older than Janine was partaking, 'cause -- he rolled with Diego and Annie enough to know that he probably should just trust that that was fine.

Look, Frenchie just didn't want to have to waste a perfectly good smoke bomb on distracting the people in this bar 'cause they had to flee or something.

Also, MM would be so annoying if they got in trouble for giving a child booze.

"Santé," Frenchie said, lifting his own shot in a toast before throwing it back. "You are Diego's petit frère?"

If you could still count the number of rounds, it was not enough rounds! Which was probably why SEALs got kicked out of so many bars.

"All the good decisions begin with tequila."

Literally never.

"Congratulations, brah."

"And now there will never be another Herogasm," Frenchie noted, very sad. He held up a hand, gesturing as though something were blowing away, out of reach. "I have missed my chance for all time. My bucket list -- forever incomplete, now."

"That's an unoriginal joke!" Did it count as unoriginal if the first time you heard it was from the older version of the person telling you now?

Steve grinned. "Hydration is important," he agreed. "That way you can drink longer."

"There will be other orgies, Frenchie," Diego said. "I promise you."

Hey, there were bar nachos, Mario Kart, and beer that was cold. Steve was a happy dude.

"You planned this out, right?" he said with a smile. "I'm Steve. McGarrett. I work with Diego."

Well, for value of work that included making the Troopers do everything.

There has never been a good decision with tequila involved. Never.

"Thanks," he said with a pleased smile. "One week to go and no disasters yet. This might actually be happening."

He was still waiting for an apocalypse.

"Don't let Frenchie hear you say that," MM warned. He was eyeing the stringy Hargreeves, too. No one needed to be hospitalized for overdoing it tonight. "How you been, Steve?"

"But not Herogasm," Frenchie noted with a sigh. He would, sincerely, probably always be like this when it came to Herogasm, alas. "Even if we are not celebrating with strippers, I am very happy for you, Diego. So soon!"

He and Kimiko had been practicing their dance steps for a week already.

"There is nothing wrong with some Springsteen." And Danny was nothing if not a New Jersey stereotype on that subject. "It'll be way better than whatever soft rock Steve picks."

It was just how all Fives were, okay? "Why change a classic?"

"No," Five said with a snort. "I'm his grand frère."

Because that made perfect sense.

"What, like Steely Dan?" Diego asked. "Or worse soft rock?"

Well, it was a Fandom wedding. Preparing for an apocalypse was just smart.

"Pretty sure you don't get your deposits back at this point," Steve said. "Might as well go for it."

"Yep," he said with the stupid grin he had been sporting lately whenever anyone mentioned the wedding. "Hope Butcher and Hughie aren't giving you too much grief over it."

"Good," Steve said, smiling. "My life's a lot more quiet when I'm not visiting Annie's universe, apparently."

It made zero sense, but Frenchie had been briefed on the fact that Diego's family was a little strange. (Of course, he'd only been briefed as much as MM knew, and MM did not know all that much.)

"You wear your age well, then," Frenchie decided with a wink. Was the kid joking? Did they have time travel or something in Diego's home universe? Was this some sort of terrible body horror thing? Who cared! Not this guy!

"My musical choices are amazing!" Steve yelled from wherever he was in the bar. This blasphemy will not stand, Daniel.

"Butcher," which, if you looked for it, was a step down from Monsieur Charcutier, "I am afraid, does not seem to care much." Or at least was pretending he didn't care, but -- no, honestly, he probably really didn't care about not being invited to this wedding. He liked Diego fine, but he still was no Starlight fan. "But Hughie has been...."

Frenchie searched for a word before settling on, "Pathétique. I have told him three times now not to text you or Annie. Kimiko is watching movies with him tonight."

Because Kimiko was too damn nice sometimes.

"Way worse," Danny replied without hesitation. "So much worse."
