Hargreeves Mansion | Early Evening

Okay, so, that had gone terribly. Diego had sent Annie back to her New York, feeling horrible about everything that had happened even if they had talked it out a bit. He eventually made his way up to his childhood bedroom and flopped down on the bed, doing his best not to think about poor Vanya locked up downstairs.

Vanya	Vanya had screamed herself hoarse, and finally ended up curled into one of the corners of the soundproof room. She had been abandoned by everyone, the people she had trusted the most, and no one was coming to help her. Well, her options were to stay in here possibly forever, or to get herself out. She wasn't the weak one anymore. She closed her eyes and focused, trying to find any sort of noise that she could use to free herself. But all she could hear was the pounding of her own heart. Turns out that would do.
Diego	Diego sat up straight when he heard a crashing noise from downstairs. It was followed by several more exploding sounds throughout the house. The old plaster started to shake off the walls. He bolted out of his room, finding Klaus, Luther and Pogo out in the hall looking as confused as he was. "What the hell is going on?"
Pogo	"Vanya," Pogo said, eyes widening. "We need to get to safety, outside of the Academy."
Luther	The sound of more explosions echoed through the house. "I'm getting Allison, you guys get Mom."
Diego	Diego grabbed Klaus by the arm to lead him down the hall, trying to not have a panic attack at his home falling around him. "Mom! Where is she? Mom!"
Klaus	"Mom!" The house was literally falling around them and Klaus was going to be so pissed off if he was crushed by a metaphor of his childhood misery. "Mom!" Klaus saw an archway crumbling a second too late, he managed to stop in time to only get knocked off his feet, but Diego caught the full brunt of it. "Oh shit, Diego--" He tried shaking his brother awake, but Diego was slow coming to. A cracking noise above them had Klaus looking up to see the ceiling above them starting to splinter and break.
Ben	Yeah, no, Ben was not about to stand here and watch this. He wasn't exactly sure how he knew he could do it, but there could be time enough for that later. He grabbed both Klaus and Diego by the collars of their shirts and pulled them out of the way just as a chunk of the roof collapsed onto where they had been.
Klaus	Klaus looked up at Ben in amazement. "Holy shit." No, wait, no time to be amazed. House was collapsing. Klaus pulled Diego up to his feet and helped lead him out of the house into the alley. "You okay? Are you okay?"
Diego	Diego let out a relieved little laugh. "You just saved my life, man!" He pulled Klaus into a hug, not seeing Ben's insulted look and Klaus giving him a 'what are you gonna do?' shrug in return. He did, however, see Mom still in the mansion a couple floors up, looking out the window. "Mom! Get out of there! I'm coming after you!"
Klaus	"Diego, no!" He (or Ben, whatever), did not save Diego's life just to watch him die a second later.
Diego	Diego would have absolutely done whatever he could to get Klaus off of him, but there wasn't enough time to do that. The mansion gave up the ghost and started crumbling from the top down. Diego caught one last glance at his mother before the building collapsed entirely. "Mom!" Once the dust had settled, Diego ran towards the rubble to start clearing it. "Mom! Klaus, help me--"
Diego	"Diego--" Klaus reached out to put a hand on his shoulder. "Just stop it. Stop. She's gone, okay? She's gone." Everything was gone.
Diego	"What do you wanna do?" Diego asked, shoving Klaus. "You w-wanna walk away from this? What about Pogo?"
Luther	"He didn't make it." Luther and Allison had managed to escape out the other end of the house and only now got to their brothers. "Vanya killed him."
Diego	Diego shook his head. "Vanya wouldn't--"
Luther	"No, I saw it," Luther said, closing his eyes. The image was going to stick with him for awhile. "Just before we got out."
Diego	That about did it for Diego. He slumped down onto the ground, head in his hands. "First Mom, now Pogo..."
Five	Well, Five had even better news for everyone as he teleported in to join his siblings in looking at the ruble. "Guys, this is it. The apocalypse is still on. The world ends today." So, you know. Get your shit together.
Luther	"I thought you said it was over." They were a little busy dealing with the wrecked house at the moment. You know, that rubble all around you, Five?
Five	"I was wrong, okay?" Now exactly how hard was it for him to get that out? Very hard, was the correct answer. He hauled up the newspaper he'd taken from the store he'd left Dolores at to show them. "This newspaper, I found it in the future the day I got stuck. The headline hasn't changed."
Diego	"No, that doesn't mean anything." He might have been saying that because he didn't understand the newspaper logic in the first place. "The timeline could have been altered since that newspaper came out this morning."
Five	"You're not listening to me," Five said before actually explaining that logic for them. "When I found it, I assumed this place came down along with everything else. But here we are. The Moon's still shining, the Earth is in one piece, but not the Academy."
Klaus	'Explaining' more like. "I'm confused."
Five	He was doing his best here! "Then listen to me, idiot," Five snapped. "Vanya destroys the Academy before the apocalypse. I thought Harold Jenkins was the cause, but he was the fuse. Vanya is the bomb. Vanya causes the apocalypse."
Luther	Well, shit. "We have to find her." And do...something.
Diego	Diego wasn't surprised to hear the sound of approaching sirens in the distance. Honestly, a building the size of a city block fell down, the fact that they weren't here sooner is a miracle. "We have to go, now."
Luther	"Regroup at the Super Star!" The bowling alley, yes.
