Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

Steve grinned. "Hydration is important," he agreed. "That way you can drink longer."

"Don't let Frenchie hear you say that," MM warned. He was eyeing the stringy Hargreeves, too. No one needed to be hospitalized for overdoing it tonight. "How you been, Steve?"

"Good," Steve said, smiling. "My life's a lot more quiet when I'm not visiting Annie's universe, apparently."

Probably a good thing that MM had gotten the run-down on alternate universes a couple months back, because 'Annie's universe' passed with but a lift of one eyebrow.

"Should be quieter for the rest of us who live there, too," he offered with a small smile. "At least, for the foreseeable future."

Who could say what would happen when Homelander decided to show back up? Literally no one at this point, probably, because this writers' room didn't believe in continuity.

Pfft, writers' rooms thought Steve was fine for the next episode after being offscreen tortured for sweeps week! Continuity was for other shows.

"The good kind of quiet?" Steve asked, sipping from his beer. "Or the post natural disaster kind of quiet?"

MM cocked a finger at him knowingly. "The second one, 'course. But I'll take the break while we've got it."

He nodded his head towards Diego. "Give them a minute to get married and maybe get through that honeymoon before someone blows up half New York again or we gotta infiltrate another orgy."

MM's life was extremely normal.

"Another orgy?" Steve echoed.

"It was a busy summer," MM commented mildly, huffing out a sigh. "Though that particular orgy ended in an explosion so they're probably not having another one next year."

Much to, of course, Frenchie's much-documented chagrin.

"A non-dirty explosion?" Steve checked.

Because he's seen some porn he'd regretting clicking on.

"There was some regrettable explosive stuff before the actual giant fireball-type explosion," MM replied, making a face that indicated that Steve probably really did not want clarification.

Poor MM had been the victim of one such...more figurative explosion, which he had loved both as a crasher of this orgy, and as a man with undiagnosed OCD.

"Ew," Steve said. "Need a beer?"

Or five?

"I would love a beer, man," MM replied, clearly grateful to not be asked to explain further about Herogasm. "You looking forward to this wedding? I know Annie's half-convinced something nuts is gonna happen."

Diego seemed like he might think so, too; he just also seemed more okay with the idea.

"Well, it's not like they're getting married on the island where everything you touch turning into a jelly donut might just happen," Steve said, "But their lives are kinda nuts, so it's probably better to be prepared."

"My life and my ex-wife's life are pretty normal compared to theirs, and I still had to have my shoes run to the church for me on my wedding day," MM shared, a little fond at the memory. "Think it's one of those things where the day's just gonna go how the day's gonna go."

Though MM sincerely hoped that, like, Homelander didn't crash or something. That would be pretty rough to just roll with.

And Steve hadn't even gone to the wedding where he needed to fly a nuke into the Pacific yet!

His life, ya'll.

"Those are the parts you remember, though," he said with a grin. "All the normal stuff is just like everyone else's wedding."
