Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

That one Steven was more familiar with. "Events that can end the world, yeah? We've had loads of those. One just before we moved to the island, actually."

Again with the pronouns, Steven.

"It's good wine," Watts agreed happily. "Good museums, too. I'm sure they've updated an exhibit or two since I've been last..."

If the way Steven helped himself to a seat beside Luther was any indication, yes, yes it was. "All by yourself then? That must've been hard. Your brother mentioned letters? My mum used to - "

Oh right. Maybe she hadn't.

Steven cleared his throat. "Anyway, I know how helpful those can be. Is it lovely up there? Seems as though it must be lovely."

Steven perked up at this information. "You've gone before then?"

Look, after meeting Lila and knowing his father, he just assumed British people spoke weird.

"Good for you for being casual about it. I guess you get used to it after the third or fourth time."

Watts nodded. "...Five? Years ago, now?" he squinted, taking a moment to do the math. "Shortly after the fire." A beat. "In Toronto. Don't think they had one in Paris. Well. Probably small ones. Not a big one, I mean."

"I did used to send stuff to my dad, yeah. At the time I thought it was useful." This time it was his turn to clear his throat, because that had all been a lie.

"But the moon can be lovely," Luther continued. "Quiet, peaceful. It never stopped being surreal to look at the Earth and know literally everyone you've ever met is down there."

"Well, that'll make for a fun wedding," Steve said.

"It all works out though, doesn't it?" Steven said. Because it sure did when you barely remembered what happened. "Hard work avoiding them, that's for certain. Only had to do that the once myself. Do it again if I had to, obviously. Though nobody hopes to have to, do they?"

Psychopaths maybe.

Steven was finding Llewellyn utterly charming like this. "Might have had a few in their time I think, yeah. I've gone before myself. Easy enough to hop over. But I've not gone with you and that makes all the difference, doesn't it?"

"Mental," Steven said, but he meant that as a good thing. "Never thought about it that way. I imagine it was hard being away from family all those years."

Steven really did have such an optimistic view of family considering his own.

"It does," Watts said emphatically, leaning over to make a completely unnecessary adjustment to the collar of Steven's shirt. "We'll find the time, then."

"I mean, it's kind of exciting," Diego said, maybe being one of those psychopaths. "I wouldn't want it all the time, but..."

"We'll add it to the list," Steven said. He reminded himself he wasn't allowed to kiss Llewellyn right now even though he wanted to. "Maybe after your home and mine."

"Uh, well..." How to put this? "My siblings and I were estranged then, so it had been just me and my dad when I left. And then it turned out my dad sent me to the moon to get me out of his face."

...

"So to answer your question, no, it wasn't that hard being away from my family."

Perhaps it was the amount of drink in him by now, or the fact that no one outside their party was paying any attention whatsoever to them, but impulsively Watts reached out- "You've got- something," he murmured, brushing a thumb against the corner of Steven's mouth. "There."

Much like with the collar, there was probably nothing.

Marc's motivations were mainly being able to lose himself in a fight that vaguely had a purpose to it so there would've been no judgement from that end if Marc had been at the bachelor party. (No karaoke attempt either though so, yanno, just as well.)

"Did get to go inside the Pyramid of Giza," Steven said, because he had a vastly different definition of exciting from Diego. "Won't lie, that was a treat."

It was a good thing Steven had willpower. Rapidly fading willpower perhaps, but at the moment it was there. "You're being wicked, Llewellyn Watts."

"Oh," Steven said. He looked regretful he'd mentioned it. Here he'd been trying not to bother Luther. "Sorry. That must've been hard. I know what it's like. Sort of. Losing contact."

"See any mummies?" That would be the only reason for Diego to go inside a pyramid.

"Not in the pyramid of Giza but in Alexander the Great's tomb," Steven said. Sadly for Diego he meant the kind still in their sarcophagus. "Only the one though. But it was Alexander himself so - "

Steven looked at Diego as though it was obvious how amazingly cool this was and surely everyone would be on board with that with as much enthusiasm as if, say, Beyonce just walked in.

"Can't help what you inspire in me, Steven Grant."

"Sucks, doesn't it?" Luther said lightly. He gestured around the room. "But it all worked out in the end."

Steven smiled. "You inspire me as well, Llew."

Handy how much meaning could be packed into a nickname.

Steven relaxed when it seemed Luther wasn't too bothered. "It does, doesn't it? Had someone I didn't know existed until a few months ago. Now can't imagine being without him."

Even if they didn't share a body, in fact.
