Diego was a pretty simple guy. He didn't require anyone to go all out for a bachelor party, which was why he was fairly confident Luther could pull it off without it being a complete disaster.

There was a bar. There was karaoke at said bar, and the added benefit of there being arcade games at said bar. Perfect way to get a bunch of dudes hammered the night before a good chunk of them had to leave on a trip overseas.

[For the dudes who better get off their ass and sing. ~~Hold for some OCD~~ We're good to go!]

"You should be ashamed of your musical choices!" Totally normal to shout back across the bar.

Probably a good thing that MM had gotten the run-down on alternate universes a couple months back, because 'Annie's universe' passed with but a lift of one eyebrow.

"Should be quieter for the rest of us who live there, too," he offered with a small smile. "At least, for the foreseeable future."

Who could say what would happen when Homelander decided to show back up? Literally no one at this point, probably, because this writers' room didn't believe in continuity.

"I'm Luther," he said, offering a massive (gloved) hand to shake. "Diego's mentioned you before. I think you're the cool one?"

"I can assure you that going through puberty a second time has not been a delight," Five replied, lifting his vodka in a little toast to thar fact.

"Stop shaming me!"

Super normal.

"That's...really nice of her." Too nice, really. "Annie said she seemed to enjoy the bachelorette? Probably her first one, right?"

"Good point," he said. "Thank for coming, by the way. And for dragging Danny along. Grumpy guy needs more fun."

"Well if it puts some showmanship into it maybe it won't be that bad." Oh, it could be that bad, Diego.

"I am," Steve said immediately. He would've even if he wasn't the cool one. Which he was. "Nice to meet you, Luther."

"Being grumpy is his idea of fun," Steve said with a grin. "You need to worry when he stops bitching about things."

Klaus had known he was going to have to kick this off, and he was going to kick it off with a classic.

"This one's for you up in heaven, ONJ!"

"Oh, you just wait and see," Danny said with a laugh. "If nothing, it'll be entertaining. Like a train wreck."

"This is also the first wedding she's been to," Frenchie confirmed, nodding. "Kimiko is new to...many things."

If it had not somehow already been clear.

"Who do I blame for teaching her about jello shots?" he added, really Frenching the shit out of the J in jello.

Pfft, writers' rooms thought Steve was fine for the next episode after being offscreen tortured for sweeps week! Continuity was for other shows.

"The good kind of quiet?" Steve asked, sipping from his beer. "Or the post natural disaster kind of quiet?"

"But we will all envy your metabolism au demain," Frenchie noted, lifting his own drink in answer. "To be young again."

Frenchie was about thirty, so he was also being a touch dramatic.

"Likewise. Thanks for coming," he said. "I was kind of worried nobody would show up. This is the first time one of us has gotten married. Well, gotten married while we weren't estranged or lost to different years of time."

"Why, does that mean he's about to kill somebody?" Because that would be fun to see. He'd offer up Luther as a sacrifice, if needed.

"That would be the Maid of Honor," Diego said immediately. "She'll be the redhead walking down the aisle with the giant gorilla man."

"I think a lot of this is going to be trainwreck-y," Diego admitted. "We had to take dance lessons as kids, not singing lessons."

"I don't want to learn!"

Truer words never spoken, Steve.

MM wasn't actually a bad singer. He was, in fact, pretty damn good. (This was another area where everyone should be grateful that neither Butcher nor Hughie was invited; no one needed that, least of all poor Billy Joel.)

It had taken him a few moments with the catalog before he decided -- as a man very secure in himself -- to go with something he sang a lot in the car.

MM cocked a finger at him knowingly. "The second one, 'course. But I'll take the break while we've got it."

He nodded his head towards Diego. "Give them a minute to get married and maybe get through that honeymoon before someone blows up half New York again or we gotta infiltrate another orgy."

MM's life was extremely normal.

The only person Steven knew at this party, so far as he was aware, was the man he came with. On the other hand he did enjoy meeting new people. From what Annie had told him they all sounded so interesting.

Steven ordered a pint to start the evening off, because that seemed like the sort of thing one should have at a bachelor party. If he looked and acted like someone who'd never been to one before... Well spot on observation there.

"They are her new favorite thing," Frenchie sighed, half-despairing. "All I have heard about for the last week is how much more she likes jello than 'real alcohol.'"

Word, Kimiko.

Also, that was clearly a figurative 'heard.'
